IPhone access to your Exchange mailbox


With the launch of the iPhone 3G and iPhone 2.0 software will be able to access their email, calendar and contacts stored on your Exchange Server in the organization. This article describes the steps necessary to access e-mail account on your iPhone.

Exchange Server Training Environment

ActiveSync protocol used for communication between the iPhone and Exchange server must be enabled and configured on your server. A digital certificate is required on the server to provide us with the iPhone. If ISA server is used, must be configured so that traffic from the Exchange ActiveSync for the environment. The fastest way to check that your server is configured correctly is to use the test to determine the configuration of ActiveSync issues.

Configure Firewall

Your Exchange server and the Internet is protected by a firewall must be configured to iPhone via the Internet on the stock exchange. This should enable the Internet on port 443 (the port used for SSL) on the firewall and configure a firewall for Internet traffic via port 443 to the Exchange environment.

Setting up your iPhone

On your iPhone, select Microsoft Exchange in the list of postal services. On the next screen, iPhone will ask for your email address and a username and password. The username and password, the same one you use to connect to your office computer. IPhone will try to automatically find your server and you will most likely not, and asks the server name. For server name enter the name of your Internet firewall (eg firewall.example.com) is the name of your Exchange server. In the next window, you can choose what to synchronize (email, calendar and contacts), and the number of days to have almost iPhone. After setting, click Sync to initiate the restoration of your mailbox.
